Member Spotlight: Kwab Ako-Adjei

Director, Corporate Communications & Government Relations

In my current role at the City of Burlington, I work with a talented and diverse group of communication professionals who provide information to the residents of Burlington on all of the City’s policies, activities, initiatives or events; taking into consideration the need for residents to receive accurate, clear and timely communication especially during this period of COVID-19. A key objective for me is ensuring that the City’s communications reaches the growing newcomer population to Burlington.

Having worked at Queen’s Park for close to ten years, I gained valuable insight into ensuring clear and effective messages when communicating with the public. I have over 17 years experience in the areas of issues management, communications, policy development and government relations.

I became an IABC member because of IABC’s excellent reputation among communication professionals. IABC provides many opportunities for professional development and to connect with local members to share ideas, experiences and best practices.
