Member Spotlight: Gunjan Kafil

Communications Consultant, Arcfox Technologies

Gunjan Kafil is an award-winning communications professional with 13 years of progressive experience in global PR firms and in-house roles building global brands one narrative at a time.

A post-graduate in Communications Management from India’s premier media school, Gunjan’s early career was with Hill+Knowlton Strategies, Burson-Marsteller and Ogilvy PR, focussing on financial and technology communications. She then moved in-house to Dubai Holding and Expo 2020 where she also dabbled in public affairs.

Founder of two failed start ups, Gunjan volunteers with Business in the Streets, a non-profit supporting young BIPOC entrepreneurs to validate or scale their business. She also advises Girls in Tech’s Toronto chapter to reduce gender disparities in tech.

As a new Canadian in 2019, Gunjan travelled 16,000 kms from Toronto to Tuktoyatuk in Northwest Territories. Travelling in truck camper, she explored the Canadian countryside, culture, and communities to learn first-hand what it means to be a Canadian.

A lover of outdoors, Gunjan has climbed two of the world’s tallest mountains and run several half marathons. She is a licenced scuba diver and a trained yoga instructor.

Gunjan has joined IABC to connect with fellow communicators and keep a pulse on Toronto’s thriving communications landscape.
