Member Spotlight: Jacqui DeBique

Communications & Knowledge Transfer Manager, Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario

Jacqui DeBique is a seasoned professional with 25+ years’ experience in non-profit communications. By day, she works as the Communications & Knowledge Transfer Manager at Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario and, as evenings and weekends allow, freelances under her banner Quite Write Communications. After many years away from the fold, Jacqui was excited to rejoin IABC Toronto two years ago, anxious to network with peers and engage in professional development opportunities.

“I’m at a point in my career where I deeply appreciate the gamut of benefits that come with IABC membership—from committee roles, to webinars, community forums, certification, and so much more. I especially value being a PIC member!”

Jacqui started her career in advertising in Montreal and, upon moving to Toronto, worked with TVO and a range of organizations that exposed her to the worlds of microfinance, marginalized youth, parenting, education and healthcare, to name a few. A self-described communications generalist, Jacqui has worked as a tactician and strategist, often in the same role, but nothing compares to her passion for writing and editing.

Jacqui is an active volunteer who typically gives back in her capacity as a communications professional. Outside of work and volunteering, you can find Jacqui in writing workshops honing her creative writing skills.
