PIC’s April Buzz celebrates communication superheroes – like you!

A woman in a white shirt with a red cape tied around her neck sits holding an open laptop. Text reads, “The Buzz. Your source for everything indie.” The I A B C / Toronto and P I C logos are on the top left and a “Join P I C” button top right.

Did you know that April 28 is National Superhero Day?

In the April issue of The Buzz, IABC/Toronto’s Professional Independent Communicators salute our comms superheroes. We may not leap tall buildings in a single bound, but we DO have the ability to solve problems in moments of crisis, influence stakeholders, adapt to changing circumstances and work magic wearing a cape of invisibility.

Brent Artemchuk talked with three of his own communications superheroes – Marie-Lauren Gregoire Drummond, SCMP, Phil Sach and Rucsandra Saulean. Find out who they see as superheroes and why.

You’re a superhero; how do you show your clients? In our session on March 26, speakers Melody Gaukel and Kathryn Hollinrake shared tips for making lasting positive impressions on clients, both in person and virtually. Sharon Aschaiek recaps the details.

We’ve added two new comms superheroes to the PIC community – meet Lori Henry and Jacqueline Smith.

You’ll also learn about the science of motivation in Catharine Heddle’s latest book review, and have another chance to sign up for our in-person networking event on May 6. Hope to see you there, with or without your cape.

Happy National Superhero Day to all professional communicators!

If you have any comments or questions, ideas for professional development topics, or wish to volunteer with PIC, reach out to me at toronto-sig@iabc.to. I’m always happy to hear from you.
