PIC’s May Buzz invites members to plug in

Closeup of a hand about to insert a plug into a socket. The I A B C / Toronto and P I C logos are on the top left and a Join P I C button top right. Text reads: The Buzz. Your source for everything indie.

Plugged In is the theme powering the May edition of The Buzz, the newsletter produced by IABC/Toronto’s Professional Independent Communicators (PIC).

This issue is packed with the voices, achievements and opportunities shaping our community right now:

  • Meline Beach recaps our highly attended and informative session about contracts, with tips for key clauses to include, safeguards to build in, how to address AI and more.
  • We welcome new member Raihan Hussain.
  • We spotlight Cyrus Mavalwala, newly named Master Communicator for his impact within the IABC community.
  • We recognize Kathryn Hollinrake as IABC/Toronto’s Volunteer of the Year for her outstanding contributions and commitment to the community.
  • We salute Matisse Hamel-Nelis for being named a Top Strategic Communication Leader of the Year for her work in accessibility communications.

It’s also last call for the Media Relations webinar on May 26. And we invite you to take a role in shaping PIC’s future. If you’ve been thinking about getting more involved, this is your sign: we’re actively seeking PIC executive volunteers to help drive new ideas, strengthen member engagement, and keep our community connected and thriving.

The future of PIC is built by people who plug in — and there’s never been a better time to join the conversation.
