In 2020, IABC/Toronto made Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) a focus for our association. The IDEA Committee ensures our association continues to evolve the conversation and meet the needs of our members. The IDEA Committee is led by the Vice President of IDEA, with the support of two co-chairs, and four directors of the following portfolios:
- Communications: Gather and share IDEA-related communication resources and content.
- Advocacy & Collaboration: Outreach to external organizations to attract and build relationships with diverse communicators.
- Events: Create IDEA-related events and resources.
- Affinity Groups: Develop and establish affinity groups (aka employee resource groups) as a space for diverse communicators.

Loretta Lam, Director of Advocacy & Collaboration, IDEA Committee 2022-2023 Lorette is chief strategist of award-winning diversity marketing and communication agency Focus Communications Inc., with more than 25 years of international experience in diversity strategies, marketing communications, and cultural training. She pioneered 360 Multicultural Marketing and instigated the first annual multicultural marketing editorial report and award event in Canada.

Currently located in the West Coast (Vancouver), Joyce is exploring the city for opportunities to build on her project management and event skills. She is passionate about staff engagement initiatives and community building.
