Amie Silverwood (She/Her)
Amie is an award-winning strategic communicator focused on building communities and connecting people to new ideas and ways of working. Amie believes in the power of words to ignite understanding and invite change.
With a background in publishing, Amie has honed the art of finding the human at the core of every story. As a leader in corporate communications, she knows audiences continue to crave connection, respect and transparency.
As the Member Engagement Lead for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Amie is passionate about creating meaningful connections and providing opportunities for members to share their knowledge and learn from each other. Engagement starts with understanding audiences and building relationships.
She collaborates with members to develop programming, promote global standards and initiate conversations to inspire positive change. A key part of her role has been to relaunch a network of chapters across the Americas, offering both in-person and online opportunities to share knowledge and build lasting professional communities.
Amie has been on the Board of Directors for IABC/Toronto for the last four years. She led the OVATION Awards judging for two years, recruiting, training and managing about 80 senior communicators through the process of evaluating approximately 160 entries. She also managed programming for the Communicator of the Year award for IABC/Toronto.
She is inspired and energized by the connections she has made through IABC/Toronto and thankful for the friends she has made along the way.
