Sachi Hegde (She/Her)
Sachi is a Toronto-based marketing and communications strategist with experience across journalism, public policy, agency, and brand-side roles. Having lived and worked across South Asia, North America, and Europe, she brings a cross-cultural lens to how she reads an audience and shapes stories. She began her career in journalism before spending a decade in the social impact and public policy sector. There she worked with international nonprofits, governments, and multilateral organizations on strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and large-scale development programs.
In the last five years, Sachi has worked primarily across brand communications, marketing, and social media strategy, including as a MarComms Strategist at a sponsorship agency for brands such as Mondelēz, Maple Leaf Foods, Dairy Farmers of Manitoba, Visa Canada, Thorne, Black Opportunity Fund, and TSN. Currently, she is a consultant with Destination Markham, where she is building an impact communications toolkit to help tourism organizations connect their activities to broader economic, social, community, and reputational value.
Outside of work, Sachi enjoys travelling, hiking, and learning about heritage and culture.
She holds an MA in Development Studies, a BA in Journalism and Communications, a postgraduate diploma in Digital Marketing, and is completing a graduate diploma in Sustainability and Social Responsibility at the University of Toronto’s St. Michael’s College. As a board member of IABC Toronto, she looks forward to contributing to the chapter and the broader communications community.
