Video Storytelling Workshop

September 27, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Tuesday, September 27, 6 to 8:30 p.m., Doubletree by Hilton Toronto, Victoria Room, 108 Chestnut St., Toronto

Award-winning independent writer, director and producer James Hyslop launches this entertaining, hands-on 90-minute session with a presentation of various corporate videos. Then James discusses the process to determine:

  • • what is the story
  • • how to tell it
  • • who tells it
  • • costs and budgeting
  • • shooting and editing

A 60-minute workshop follows, where participants break into groups of four to five, with each group assigned a specific scenario, for example crisis management, a product launch, corporate image, a cause or CSR initiative, etc. Groups will have approximately 15 minutes to determine what the story is, how they will tell the story and who will tell it. Then each group will present their stories to James for feedback, group discussion and dialogue.

This session will be followed by general Q&A, plus time for networking and informal discussion.

Intended for mid- to senior-level communication, marketing and PR professionals.

CMPs: This session may qualify for up to five points of professional development.
