Member Spotlight: Matthew Collis

Matthew Collis is a results-oriented and creative communications professional with a decade of marketing and communications experience. His focus is on digital and content strategy and he has won multiple awards for projects he has led or co-led in the digital space. He has also written communications columns for a variety of publications including the Huffington Post and is a regular contributor to IABC/Toronto’s Communicator Magazine. Mathew is also an active member of IABC/Toronto’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) Committee.

Matthew is currently Communications Specialist/ Advisor at the Ontario College of Pharmacists, the province’s registering and regulating body for the profession of pharmacy, where he develops and implements communications plans and campaigns, and leads and consults on digital projects and initiatives that span across website, social media, email, video, and paid and owned communication channels.

A resourceful and proactive leader, Matthew understands the importance of relationship-building. He is a strong communicator and collaborator, having worked most of his career with multiple, diverse internal and external stakeholders to accomplish strategic goals. Being both highly creative and analytical, he is able to leverage both right and left brain thinking to very effectively develop impactful key messages that resonate with the right audiences, and he excels at analyzing communication challenges and bringing forward strategic and innovative solutions that meet key organizational needs.

Matthew joined IABC/Toronto in 2015 to give back to the profession, network with other professional communicators, and expand his skills and experience. “As a lifelong learner, I’ve always been passionate about giving back and continuing to deepen my professional knowledge and skillset, and this is a key reason why I decided to become part of the IABC/Toronto community.”
