Since 1997, the prestigious IABC/Toronto Communicator of the Year (COTY) award has recognized excellence in strategic communication by an executive in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Recipients have demonstrated leadership and communication skills that drive business results, or have had a significant, positive impact on the community in the past year.
The Communicator of the Year is not necessarily in a communication role; however, the recipient of the award is someone who uses the power of communication to deepen understanding, inspire action and transform their community.
We’re looking for this year’s Communicator of the Year! Submit your nomination today.
Eligibility:
The nominee must:
- Live in the GTA;
- Have a demonstrated ability to communicate successfully;
- Have had a positive influence with key stakeholders and the community; and,
- Demonstrates a strong code of ethics.
Questions:
Submit your nomination by answering the following questions and attaching any material for the judging panel to consider alongside your responses (press releases, research, links to articles, etc.).
- What has the nominee achieved in the past year that has had a significant impact on a community in the GTA? Please explain the communication need and the overall result of their work.
- How did the nominee demonstrate excellence in communication through strategic planning to meet business needs and an understanding of audience needs?
- How did the nominee demonstrate the use of communication to deepen understanding, inspire action or transform the community?
- Are there any negative developments or activities involving the nominee that IABC/Toronto should be aware of while considering the nominee for this award?
