Trans Day of Visibility (TDoV – March 31) celebrates trans people while raising awareness about the discrimination they experience. Besides a celebration of trans visibility, it is a call on allies to visible action. IDEA committee member Caterina Valentino (she/her) shares more…
Trans visibility helps:
- Challenge stereotypes about trans people
- Encourage inclusive policies
- Foster safer communities
At the same time, visible allyship is just as important, and looks like:
- Actively advocating for the safety of trans people in your workplaces and communities
- Shutting down transphobia when you witness it, and challenging yourself and others to do better
- Continued commitment to learning about trans-inclusive communication
Visibility must lead to action. Together, we create a world where trans people are truly valued.
