Harmon Moon
Harmon Moon joined IABC in 2016 while working on his Public Relations Diploma in Edmonton, Alberta. When he moved to Toronto, he transferred his membership to the local chapter to meet fellow communicators and start building his network. He quickly became active as a volunteer for the Networking portfolio and was recently nominated to the 2019-2020 IABC/Toronto Board as the VP, Volunteer Services.
Before leaving Edmonton, Harmon worked in communications and media relations in the Alberta Legislature, while also taking on volunteer organization roles such as Campaign Manager for an Edmonton City Council campaign. Here in Toronto, he works as a contractor. In addition to his Public Relations Diploma, he also holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from McGill University, and spent time overseas studying Mandarin Chinese in Taipei.
IABC has given Harmon excellent opportunities to meet fellow communicators in Toronto, and allows him to keep up to date on the latest in the communications industry with speakers and professional development events. Volunteering has given him hands-on experience in organizing events and helped him quickly become familiar with a new city.
