How are our clients and our companies going beyond a basic social media post recognizing Black History Month? How can we support strategies that empower Black and racialized communication professionals?
Professional Independent Communicators (PIC) takes a look in the February issue of The Buzz, with a recap of our panel discussion marking Black History Month and this month of love. Find suggestions to help support and position diversity shared in the Feb. 2 discussion with Karen White-Boswell, Patience Badze, Ruth Kupolati and Christopher Trotman.
With a nod to Valentine’s Day, our 3×3 this month asks three PIC members to answer three questions about what they love about their jobs and the industry. Augustine (Austine) Fischer, Maureen Hosein, ABC and Sabita Singh, ABC tell all in their conversation with Brent Artemchuk.
PIC Chair Jacqui DeBique weaves together her PR love and long history of “giving Black,” and commits to three intentional behaviours. As she points out, “our profession can only benefit through our intentional actions to lift each other up.”
