COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
Reporting to the Director, Student & Enrolment Services in the Division of Student Services & International Relations (SSIR), at the Schulich School of Business, the Communications Coordinator role produces clear, timely, compelling communications for print and digital media. This role is responsible for the end-to-end production of publications such as the academic handbooks and Schulich viewbooks, as well as the graphic design and production of a variety of communications including brochures, flyers, webpages, program charts and electronic letters. Working with internal and external stakeholders, the Communications Coordinator applies a broad knowledge of design principles and technical expertise in copywriting, graphic design, and the use of communications software to deliver targeted communications on a variety of media. The Communications Coordinator takes a lead in the implementation of communication strategies to support Divisional objectives and makes recommendations to enhance and elevate the School’s visual profile in print and digital media.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
Education:
- University degree in a relevant field such as Communications or Marketing or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks.
- This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
Experience:
- Five (5) years of recent related experience in communications, publications and graphic design.
- Demonstrated ability to design print material.
- Experience designing communications for multi-stakeholder audiences while adhering to brand standards within an academic context.
- Advanced knowledge of visual design elements and principles, including contrast, space, alignment, and color.
- Extensive knowledge of copywriting and editing. Demonstrated experience using presentation software, marketing automation software, and cloud-based communication software.
