Stephanie Thornbury, ABC, is a senior communications executive with more than 20 years of experience leading integrated internal and external communications strategies across corporate, not-for-profit, and consulting environments. She specializes in corporate reputation, executive communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and organizational change, aligning communications strategy with business priorities to drive measurable impact.
Throughout her career, Stephanie has overseen enterprise-wide communications functions, managing brand positioning, thought leadership, issues and crisis communications, and high-visibility external engagement initiatives. She brings deep expertise in translating complex business strategy into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences, strengthening credibility with employees, media, partners, and the broader community. Known for her strategic counsel and steady leadership, she partners closely with executives to elevate communications from tactical execution to business enabler.
A long-standing IABC Toronto volunteer, Stephanie previously served on the chapter’s Financial Innovation & Sustainability Committee, advising the Board of Directors on financial stewardship, revenue diversification, and long-term sustainability. She also served as Vice President, OVATION Awards, overseeing the planning and execution of the chapter’s flagship awards program and largest fundraising initiative, and contributed as an OVATION Awards judge. Stephanie holds the Accredited Business Communicator designation and is committed to advancing excellence and professional standards within the communications discipline.
Stephanie holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Western University and a Public Relations Diploma from Humber College, and remains passionate about advancing the communications profession through leadership, continuous learning, and community engagement.
