Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Sponsorships

Kay Parent, CMP (She/Her)

toronto-marketing@iabc.to

Kay Parent is a certified communication management professional with a rich and diverse professional background.

Kay began her career as a management consultant for Accenture, assuming leadership roles in both systems development and Human Resources. An integral component of these roles was her ability to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to create tailored, client-facing communications that translated complex, technical information into accessible content for business leaders and their teams.

Then, during a transformative role as Communications Lead and Board of Director’s Chair for a non-profit organization, Kay further developed her communications expertise through the planning and execution of a significant leadership transition that required the development of politically sensitive messaging to fully engage a divisive stakeholder group.

Most recently, at CSA Group and First Canadian Title Insurance, Kay implemented global communications strategies that connected employees to their company’s mission, fostered an inclusive culture, and drove employee engagement. During this time, Kay also received the COVID-19 Award of Excellence from FCT’s Chief Executive Officer.

Now, with more than 15 years of experience serving clients in financial services, public safety, retail, non-profit, education, and information technology, Kay is recognized for her strong business acumen, emotional intelligence, and collaborative leadership style. She has a proven track record in managing multi-channel internal communications campaigns, including executive visibility initiatives, and partnering with senior leadership to help execute corporate strategies.

In her role as VP, Strategic Partnerships & Sponsorships at IABC/Toronto, Kay is accountable for establishing mutually beneficial relationships with partners and sponsors that align with IABC’s mission to ensure long-term growth and engagement within the communications industry.

As a Communication Management Professional (CMP®) certified by the Global Communication Certification Council, Kay also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and a certification in Change Management from the University of British Columbia. In addition, she is working towards her certification in Digital Strategy & Communications Management from the University of Toronto.

In her spare time, Kay enjoys spending time with family in Canada and the United States, and exploring new cuisines, travel destinations, and musical genres.
